We didn't know each other for very long, but I like to think we were. We spent a while talking with each other; she was from the same race of people as I am, but raised in a different territory, so she didn't know our customs or much of our language.

[And what she did know of the language used among the Ura was...surprisingly obscene; he assumes she picked it up from her father on particularly bad days.]

I taught her how to read the letters we use and decipher basic words, and how to speak a bit more than she already did. She was eager to learn about all of it.

I was fond of her. Wanted to protect her a bit. And I liked spending time with her.
